Amazon released Flow, an augmented reality app, for the iPhone last year. Now the company has released an Android version.

Amazon describes the app as “an augmented reality app that lets you discover information about everyday products around you.”

You point your phone’s camera at book covers, video games, DVDs, CDs, or the barcode of just about any product, and Amazon overlays information about that product over the photographic image.

You can see in the screenshot to the right how it works. I pointed it at a can of chili and product details and prices from Amazon popped up. Pretty neat!
