Send to KindleFor the second time in a month, Amazon Web Services suffered some downtime.
This time it was due to the big storm that battered the east coast of the United States on Friday night. Millions of people lost power due to the storms, and the outage affected Amazon’s Virginia data center. The data center power outage affected a number of high-profile and high-traffic sites that rely on Amazon’s cloud storage, including Netflix, Instagram, Pinterest, and Heroku.
The sites were down for several hours and Instagram is still working on getting up and running as of the time of writing.
