Amazon’s Kindle Cloud Reader Now Offers Dual-Column Reading for Wider Screens

This morning as I opened up a book in Amazon’s Cloud Reader — a free web app that makes it easy to read Kindle books in your browser — I noticed a great new feature: a dual-column view.

This is a big deal if you’re using Cloud Reader on a computer that has a wide screen. Even on my laptop’s 13″ screen, there was a lot of empty space in the old single-column design.

Here’s what a book looks like now:

You can still turn off the dual-column mode if you’d like (for the option, just click the same settings button used for text size), but I love the new layout. Head on over to Cloud Reader to see it for yourself.

If your screen is wide enough, it should display the two column layout by default.
