Amazon Web Services (AWS) just launched a new service for enterprise developers called Amazon Simple Workflow.

According to a post on the AWS blog,

This new service gives you the ability to build and run distributed, fault-tolerant applications that span multiple systems (cloud-based, on-premise, or both). Amazon Simple Workflow coordinates the flow of synchronous or asynchronous tasks (logical application steps) so that you can focus on your business and your application instead of having to worry about the infrastructure.

I honestly don’t really know what this means. I’m not a developer, and the majority of people who read this won’t have any use for this. If you’re one of those people for whom this means something, you can read more in the Amazon press release or in the AWS blog post.
