Hunger Games Beats Harry Potter As Amazon’s Best-Selling Book Series Ever

Amazon announced today that the books in the Hunger Games series have outsold the books in the Harry Potter series.

Here’s the news:

[T]he Hunger Games trilogy has outsold the seven-book Harry Potter series, making Suzanne Collins’ three-part saga the best-selling book series of all time on Amazon.com, taking into consideration print and Kindle book sales combined.

That’s pretty impressive, even taking into consideration the fact that the Harry Potter series has only relatively recently been available in the Kindle format.

Down at the bottom of the Amazon press release is a note saying that “The Hunger Games movie debuts on DVD, Blu-ray and Amazon Instant Video tomorrow,” August 18.
