Send to KindleThis blog, Amazopia, will be undergoing a shift in content and how that content is reported.
Amazopia has been reporting Amazon and Kindle news since September 2011. Most of the content here has been about Amazon as a company, plus news related to the Kindles. The site is run by one person (me, Tristan). A lot of the posts here on Amazopia have been just rewritten Amazon press releases and news items covered on other websites. As other ventures take up more and more of my time, I feel it’s more and more stupid for me to spend time rewriting what others have written.
I then had to whether to shutter Amazopia for good, sell the blog, or shift the way the site operates. I’ve chosen the third option.
So here’s a rundown of what will be happening:
- No more full-on “reporting” (i.e., rewriting) of Amazon news. The shift will be to curating and aggregating Amazon and Kindle news and tips that have been covered on other websites and blogs. In other words, Amazopia will link to these articles and I may or may not include some brief commentary of my own.
- There will be more Kindle tips and Kindle publishing tips, as opposed to content that is more about Amazon as a company. I haven’t been able to write many of these articles myself due to time constraints, but simply providing a sentence or two and then linking to them will be a lot more feasible.
- There will still be original content, articles, videos, and reporting as my time allows and as I find necessary.
So that’s about it! I think that overall, the change will greatly benefit you, the reader, because you’ll get a wider variety of content (as I said, there will be more about Kindle tips and Kindle publishing now). And in the past, I’ve run across some cool Amazon shopping tips and tricks that I haven’t reported because I didn’t want to have to come up with a few paragraphs of fluff just to share one little thing. It will be much easier now to write a sentence or two of description and provide a link.
The change will be effective immediately
Thanks, and let me know if you have any questions, concerns, or comments.
