Send to KindleAs we get closer to and closer to an estimated mid-summer release date for a new batch of Kindles, the rumors are flying fast and heavy.
The latest set of rumor comes from Digitmes (which I found via TechCrunch):
[T]he sources expect Amazon to release a new 7-inch tablet PC with a screen resolution of 1280 by 800 and a price of US$199, in the third quarter, targeting the higher-end segment, while releasing another 7-inch model with similar specifications as the existing Kindle Fire, featuring a screen resolution of 1024 by 600 and a price of US$149.
A 10.1″ model is also reportedly in the works, and an 8.9″ model could possibly be in the works.
As for the regular e-reader Kindles (that is, not the Kindle Fire tablets), Digitimes repors that Amazon will be releasing a backlit reader. I don’t know if I believe this, as I think a front-lit version would be more likely.
It’s worth noting that the Digitimes accuracy record is very low, but they’ve been right before.
