Nowadays, Social Media has become a cornerstone of marketing strategy, even if it was originally built as a personal tool for people to connect with family & friends, and a place for self-expression through photos, status updates, etc. Following the footsteps of Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram, Amazon also launched its own (hmm, not really) Social Network where users can discover, follow, share and shop their interests and passions.

Navigating through the app will remind you of Instagram where you scroll through your feed and see photos posted by different influencers featuring their favorite products – outfit photos, flat lays, etc. But what makes it different is its “shoppable” feature that allows you to simply tap on the image and purchase the item right there and then.
Your feed will be personalized according to your selected interests (which will be the first step when creating your Spark account) and just like other social networking sites, you can comment and “smile” at other people’s posts, just like Instagram’s “heart” and Facebook’s “like” button.
Although not an original idea (as usual), I think it’s a great place for loyal Amazon shoppers to discover new products, as well connect and inspire others by sharing your passion and your favorite Amazon finds.
