The two big name brands are against each other as Apple claims that 90% of the “genuine” charging cables and own-brand power adapters being sold on the Amazon site are allegedly fake, after purchasing a number of these “power products” and testing it out. Amazon confirms that these products are from Mobile Star.  Hence, the lawsuit filed against the company for selling counterfeit products that could lead to fires through Amazon.com.

According to a statement on 9to5mac, the e-commerce giant responded that the company has zero tolerance for the sale of counterfeits on their site and is already closely working with manufacturers and brands pursuing wrongdoers aggressively.  Amazon also turned over its inventory of the said products to Apple after hearing its findings.

So the next time you plan to purchase Apple products on the Amazon site, better jump into the dedicated “Apple Store” hub on the site to make sure that you are buying authentic and genuine Apple products.
