Introducing The Alexa Routines

Alexa just keeps on getting smarter and smarter everyday, thanks to the brilliant minds behind this voice service.  Currently, there are 5,000 people working on the Alexa voice technology platform! That’s way more than Fitbit’s 1,700 and GoPro’s 1,500 employees.

But aside from the 6 new Echo devices launched at yesterday’s surprise hardware event in Amazon’s Seattle headquarters, there’s also another interesting addition arriving this fall – the Alexa Routines.

Alex Routines let you automate your own series of customizable actions and control multiple devices with a single voice command.

For example:

When you say, “Alexa, good morning,” she will automatically turn on the lights, read you the weather forecast, start the coffee maker and notify you of the day’s schedule.

Before bedtime, just say “Alexa, good night,” and she will lock the door, turn off the lights and play you a sleeping playlist.

That’s another great reason to join the Alexa band wagon.  This feature automatically goes live on all Alexa devices starting next month, including the previous generation Echo, Dot and Show.
