In a little less than a week, on February 21st, Samsung is expected to unveil their newest addition to their smartphone lineup – the Samsung S7 and S7 Edge.  Several leaks showed that both smartphones look similar to the Samsung S6 and S6 Edge. They will be selling it in the colors black, silver, white, and gold.  No more emerald green or other standout colors.

The new set of smartphones are rumored to be adding a pressure-sensitive display that might follow some of the 3D Touch features that the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus have.  They will also improve the camera performance in low light photography but is not expected to have dual cameras like their biggest competitor’s rumored iPhone 7.

Other rumored updates are the re-adoption of the micro SD slot and water-resistance features which the Samsung Galaxy S5(*) had that didn’t make it to the S6.

As mentioned, these are just rumors. Mostly. Stay tuned next week for the official release.

Samsung S5 (Still a great phone!)

The Samsung Galaxy S5 was nearly $700 when it first came out. You can now get it for less than $400 — and it’s still a great phone! I especially like the fact that it’s water-resistant (just always remember to close that connector cover). The reason that I appreciate that feature is because I have personally dropped a phone into water. It didn’t survive the dunking.

The S6 and S6 Edge are available for similar discounts, simply because there is a new model coming out! You can save a boatload of money by buying one model behind the latest. If you can stand it 🙂
