The word amazon is defined as tall, aggressive and strong-willed, which are the same attributes that the Amazon.com, Inc. has.
There’s no doubt that Amazon is a giant when it comes to the business world but it just doesn’t stop on expanding and growing. Jeff Bezos is aggressive when it comes to implementing his ambitions and visions for the company – something that other big companies are afraid to do. That’s why Amazon is considered a threat to most companies, big and small.
So if you are a business owner, you really need to watch out for all the moves that Bezos and the company make if you want to thrive and succeed in the business world.
I feel like Amazon has an ultimate goal to take over the world, taking advantage of every consumer’s need for everything fast, easy, instant and new. From opening up pop-up stores to their own shipping business, grocery delivery service to real-world grocery stores, expanding to other parts of the world and of course, developing innovative devices that have become a hit in a lot of households.
So yeah, Amazon won’t settle for just becoming a destination for shoppers, hence the birth of the most popular digital assistant, Alexa and your personal “restocker”, Dash.
Alexa is a voice assistant available on almost all Amazon devices – Echo, Tap, Dot, Fire TV and Fire Tablets. It currently has over 3,000 skills that include media/smart home controls, searching information, entertainment, ordering food, purchasing items and a lot more! Just like what Jeff Bezos said on one of his speeches, “it’s probably hard to overstate how big of an impact it’s (Alexa) going to have on society over the next 20 years.”
As for the Dash buttons, I think Jeff Bezos wants to put other retailers out of the business through these tiny devices.
The Dash Button is a Wi-Fi connected device that reorders products with a press of a button. Let’s say you ran out of Gerber formula for your baby or you realized that you are running low on Bounty tissue rolls… all you need to do is press the designated button and voila, your order is placed and will be shipped to you right away. According to Time, “Amazon unveiled the future of shopping and it’s awesome.”
The company also keeps on updating their list of perks for their $99/year Amazon Prime Subscription where they can get free two-day shipping, unlimited photo storage, exclusive discounts, early access to lightning deals and unlimited access to video streaming, music, audiobooks and e-books. And guess what the new “rumored” perk is – a possibility of a free housekeeping service for Prime members. Say what? See, Amazon is doing and giving the people the unexpected.
With all these innovations and expansions, I can’t help but think of what Amazon has in store for us in the future. Although it’s pretty exciting, it’s kind of alarming too when you think of one company dominating the business world and crushing the rest. Because by the looks of it, Jeff Bezos and his team are definitely doing well on reaching their ambitions and achieving their goals.
